ലോകനാര്‍കാവ്

കേരള സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ വടക്കൻ മലബാർ മേഖലയിലെ കോഴിക്കോട് (കാലിക്കറ്റ്) ജില്ലയില്‍ വടകരയിൽ നിന്ന് 4 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയുള്ള മേമുണ്ട പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ് ലോകനാർകാവ്. ലോകമലയാര്‍കാവിന്റെ ചുരുക്കപ്പേരാണ് ലോകനാർകാവ്, അതായത് മല (പർവ്വതം), ആറ് (നദി), കാവ് (കാവ്) എന്നിവകൊണ്ട് നിർമ്മിച്ച ലോകം (ലോകം). Lokanarkavu is located in Memunda village which is 4 km away from Vatakara, in Kozhikode (Calicut) District, North Malabar region of Kerala state of south India. Lokanarkavu is a short form of Lokamalayarkavu which means lokam (world) made of mala (mountain), aaru (river) and kavu (grove).

പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ

മണ്ഡല വിളക്കു ഉത്സവം, പൂരം മഹോത്സവം, നവരാത്രി ഉത്സവം എന്നിവയാണ് ലോകനാർകവിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ. മണ്ഡല വിളക്കു ഉത്സവം മലയാള മാസത്തിലെ വൃശ്ചികം ഒന്നു മുതൽ മാസം അവസാനം വരെയാണ്. വിളക്കിന്റെ പതിനാറാം ദിവസത്തെ നഗര വിളക്ക് എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഇരുപതാം ദിവസം അയ്യപ്പന്മാരുടെ വിളക്കാണ്, 26 നു കോടതിയും, 27 നു താലൂക്ക്, റവന്യൂ ആളുകളും, പൊതുജനങ്ങൾ 28 നും എന്നിങ്ങനെയാണ് ഉത്സവത്തിലെ മറ്റ് പ്രധാന ദിവസങ്ങള്‍.
പൂരം ഇവിടത്തെ മറ്റൊരു പ്രധാന ഉത്സവമാണ്. ഒരാഴ്ച നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവം കൊടിയേറ്റം (പതാക ഉയർത്തൽ) ആരംഭിച്ച് ആറാട്ടുമായി സമാപിക്കും.

Important Festivals of Lokanarkavu are the Mandala Vilakku Festival, Pooram Mahotsavam and Navarathri Festival. The Mandala Vilakku Festival is from the 1st of Malayalm month vrishchikam to the month end.
The sixteenth day of Vilakku is called Nagara Vilakku. The 20th day of vilakku festival by Ayyappas, 26th by Law Court, 27th by taluk and revenue people and 28th by general public are the other important days in the festival.
Pooram is the another important festival here and it is conducted with great pomp and celeberation. The week-long festival begins with Kodiyettam and concludes with Arattu.
